How They Act
Personality: Ellen lives in a world of theoretical possibilities. She see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. She live primarily inside their own mind and has a natural drive to turn theories into concrete understanding.
Ellen values knowledge above all else. She loves new ideas, and becomes very excited over abstractions and theories. Sometimes, Ellen may seem "dreamy" and distant to others, when she is musing over theories.
Ellen hates to work on routine things - she would much prefer to build complex theoretical solutions, and leave the implementation of the system to others.

Past and Family
History: Even as a child, Ellen had been smart. She liked to listen to things and take in information and then repeat it latter. Her parents always worried that this would one day get her into trouble. They tried to keep Ellen inside the house whenever they could where her tongue could not cause problems.
As Ellen grew older she shared her opinions less freely, more understanding the consequences of a loose tongue than when she was younger. She still expressed her opinions and believes and ideas for a better Panem but only with close friends who she was certain would cause no trouble and her parents.
However, with her silence came more treasonous idea, ideas which scared her parents, ideas which they were sure would have her killed.
Then the rebellion came. Her in her parents hid in a less chaotic part of the district. She was only 13 at the time but she wanted desperately to get involved. Her parents did not want her to. Arguments filled her house frequently. No matter how hard she tried to convince her parents of what she felt, they ignored her. She felt as if the only chance she had to help her theories for a new a better Panem had been torn away from her.
It was her fourteenth birthday. Fighting still took place in her District. Her and her parents had just had another fight over the rebellion. Ellen was fed up with their stupid excuses and their trying to keep her silent. Something sparked in her and Ellen left while her parents were asleep so that she could join in the fighting. It was nothing like she imagined it. Ellen grew scared. She didn't know what to do. She hid in an abandoned house while she waited for a lull in fighting so that she could get away and go back home. In the end her father found her, more relieved that she was okay than angry that she had ran away.
They began their way home, running, dodging and hiding, trying to stay away from the thick of things. They got home in one piece. Ellen's mother sobbed as she embraced her daughter, glad that she was alive.
As a consequence of her actions, Ellen was not allowed out of her parents sight until after the rebellion.
