Layke had no idea where he was. He didn’t recognize the bed, or the room, but the weak sunlight streaming in through the window had woken him up. He could tell just from how the mattress dipped that he wasn’t the only one in the bed, and suddenly he became hyperaware of his lack of clothing. What the hell happened last night? He kind of remembered a beach party, and dancing with some girls, but after that, his mind was blank. His head hurt like a mother, though, so he guessed he’d gotten drunk, and was now currently hung over. That probably explained his current state: naked in someone else’s bed. Layke moved quietly, as to not wake his bedfellow.
He frantically searched the room for any articles of his clothing, because despite the early hour, he didn’t want to go wandering the District Four streets naked. Or...maybe he did....No. Not after whatever happened last night. Layke hadn’t had any intention of getting lucky, but here he was. Finally, he noticed a pair of boardshorts on the other side of the room, near where the other person lay sleeping. Layke carefully crept over to the shorts, using his current location to get a good look at who he’d spent the night with. She wasn’t too bad looking. Not the prettiest girl Layke had ever scored with, but sure not the ugliest, either.
Now that was a night he sure didn’t want to repeat. Layke managed to slip into the outside world without waking the girl, alerting her to his presence. It was always easier if he left before they woke up, then he just had to avoid them, which was a little bit more difficult, because generally, the people who frequented the beach party scene were often the same crowd, so if Layke slept with one of them, she’d always be there. Didn’t matter to him much anymore. He’d already slept with most of them, and yet they still flocked around him. He knew the ladies couldn’t resist his physique. Hell, sometimes Layke couldn’t resist himself.
As he walked through the empty streets, Layke rubbed the soreness and kinks out of his muscles that always came after a night like the one he’d apparently had. He couldn’t remember anything, and his head still hurt like hell. And then things got even weirder. He ran into someone who looked super familiar. Layke couldn’t put his finger on it, and then the guy turned and ran. As Layke watched him retreat, he figured out why he looked so familiar: He looked exactly like Layke. The District Four boy figured he was probably still a little drunk from the night before, and decided not to dwell on it.
He was probably just seeing things anyway. Layke shrugged, and headed to one of the numerous beaches in District Four. It was near impossible not to be near water in the fishing district, and Layke basically lived in the ocean. He’d learned to swim before he’d learned to walk. This early in the morning, he had his pick of the beaches, and headed to a white, sandy one. The sand wasn’t hot yet, the sun’s rays not quite peaking over the horizon yet. Normally this beach was full of people, so Layke generally frequented a different, more rocky one, but he lucked out today.
He shucked off the shorts, not caring if anyone saw him skinny dipping. Not that anyone would, because most people were sleeping still, but he was Layke Wood. He knew no one could resist him. When he got bored of swimming, Layke decided to lay out on the beach, letting the now rising sun warm his bare skin. He really didn’t bother with his shorts, and he didn’t hear someone approaching.

Jae had woken up early. She had made sure to get up before anybody else in her family was awake, which had been a stupid idea since she was not a morning person at all. She got ready quickly, and skipped breakfast so that she would have time to make the train. She knew that this was a bad idea. But what was the worst that could happen? She wasn't going to be gone long. She had simply planned a day trip to district four. Her best friend had visited the district with her family last weekend, and said that it was the most beautiful place ever. So Jae now felt the need to see for herself. She knew that her parents would never approve of this. They hated it whenever she asked to go visit one of the other districts. But Jae refused to let them hold her back this time, so she simply bought a train ticket without them knowing.
She gazed out of the window curiously as they passed through other districts along the way. She had never left the capital before, and could not be more excited. She hadn't brought anything with her to do on the ride down there. But that was okay. She had just as much fun looking out the window, and daydreaming of what it would be like to live in one of the districts than she would have reading a book or doodling in a notebook.
Finally the long train ride was over. It was still very early in the morning, and she didn't see anybody in the streets, but that was okay. She could have time to explore the district first, before it got crowded. Jae hoped that she wouldn't stand out, she disliked attention. But she was nervous, since she wasn't sure of what to wear. She knew that the capital dressed a bit more fancy than in the districts, but she still wasn't sure what to wear. She wanted to look good, but still fit in which she decided was going to be pretty hard to do. She had worn flower printed skinny jeans, a baggy pale yellow sweater, and a pair of rainbow stripped rain boots since she had heard the place had a lot of water. She knew that most people in the capital dressed bolder than her, but she still was prayng that she wouldn't stick out a lot.
She grinned when she noticed a huge body of water in the distance, and jogged to see if she could get a better few of it. She finally got close to it, and continued sprinting towards the ocean, but feel on her face when she felt the ground get soft and squishy below her feat. She was surprised than when she fell, it didn't hurt a lot. As she pushed herself up she glanced at the ground to see it was sand. She remembered her friend telling her about this, and saying that the sand felt cool if you took off your shoes. So that's what Jae decided to do, she kicked off her rain boots as she finished standing up and walked along the beach.
She was still taking in all of the beautiful scenery when she noticed something very strange. She spotted a boy, maybe a man. She couldn't really tell how old she was from where she was standing. At first she was intrigued by this mysterious guy, and walked in his direction, but as she neared him she paused. He wasn't wearing any clothes. She had never seen a guy naked before, and thought that it might be best to leave. But although she felt disgusting admitting it, he did not look bad nude. She wondered what would happen if she walked over and asked why he did not have any clothes on.... Would he yell at her? Would he ignore her? She decided that nothing too bad could happen, so she slowly stumlbed over before tapping him gently on the shoulder.
"Um...Sir I was won-wondering why you wer-weren't we-wearing any clo-clothing... She stuttered out nervously as she forced a small smile hoping that he wasn't freaked out by her.

Layke had started to fall asleep as the heat of the rising sun began to wash over him. He could tell that it was going to be warm, but not obnoxiously hot. Perfect weather. Warm enough for Layke to walk around in just shorts, but not hot enough for him to be sweating from everywhere. He got gross when he was sweaty. But for now, the sun felt amazing on his nude skin. He had gotten a tan, obviously, spending all his time at the beach and whatnot, but he didn’t get to sunbathe nude often. Too many people around, and when the beach was devoid of people, the sun wasn’t out.
Layke heard a voice, causing him to open his eyes, and then shield them against the bright sunlight. He didn’t realize how much time had passed, and was glad there were no people on the beach. Not that it really mattered to him, because most of the female population in District Four had seen him nude before, and in Layke’s mind, most of the male population wanted to see him nude. Layke could think of a couple of guys he wouldn’t mind seeing under the trunks of, but immediately forced the thoughts from his head. He wasn’t a freak, he didn’t like guys.
Layke stood, stretching the tightness out of his muscles and wiping the white sand from where it had stuck to his wet skin. He would’ve rolled over and let the sun warm his back too, but there were places he didn’t want sand sticking to on the front of his body. He sized up the girl who’d woken him in the new morning light. He could tell that she wasn’t from District Four for two reasons. For one, she was dressed in a yellow sweater and flower jeans, and Layke knew none of the girls from District Four actually dressed like that, and for two, he hadn’t slept with her.
Layke couldn’t remember the names of all the girls he’d been with, hell, he hadn’t even bothered to ask half of them what their name even was, but he could remember faces. And this one he hadn’t seen before. “First off, my name’s Layke, not sir, but you’re not from around here. Second, I’m not wearing clothes because I haven’t been home yet, and I wanted to go swimming, so it made more sense to swim naked then it did to get my only pair of shorts wet.” Layke jerked a thumb towards his pair of shorts, laying not three feet from where he was standing.
“I have no idea why I’m telling you this, because you’re probably another drunken dream my mind made up, like that dude who looked just like me from earlier.” That had freaked Layke out a little bit, but he decided not to worry about it. Probably just his drunken mind reminding him of how sexy he was, despite his damn scar or his freaky ass eyes. Layke absent-mindedly began to trace the flowery pattern of his scar, from where he’d been struck by lightning as a kid.
However, it did worry him a bit that he was hallucinating. He’d never seen things before when he got drunk, and this was definitely not his first rodeo. But, this was also the first time he’d gotten drunk enough to not remember the night before. Generally when he woke up next to a girl, it took him a moment to remember everything, but the events of the night would come flooding back to him. This time....there was nothing, nothing at all. He at least hoped it was good. He made a note to track her down and ask about it.
