Dress Style: She wears comfortable clothes, but she still cares about her appearance. She likes to wear thin jeans and whichever shirt she plans to wear that day. She doesn’t accessorize except for her special stud earrings and she always wears her favorite black sneakers.
General Appearance: Melissa is well put together, so she tries to keep it that way but to her disadvantage she tends to be clumsy. Sometimes she comes off to people as a joke but her wits make up for it.
How They Act
Personality: Melissa is a very smart girl, full of common sense as well as intellectual knowledge. She is protective of her beliefs and her family. She’s never had very many or close friends, but that didn’t bother her because she liked being alone. It gave her space and time to think, which made her an excellent observer. She did have a flaw, though: she only had three emotions. The first emotion was your average caring sister, full of heart and mind. The second was total rage, full of defiancce and opinionated thoughts. The third was complete guilt, concern, and disappointment in herself. Having these three hard-edged sides made her an outcast and hard to get along with. Boys had never given her any attention, but she didn’t show any care in the world about attraction.

Past and Family
History: Melissa’s father had been a passionate rebel during the Dark Days, which lead him to be killed by an unknown force somewhere in the Capitol. The tragedy lead Melissa’s mother to be furious with the Capitol and their cruel ways. She never went through the ‘grief’ stage of loss; the moment Melissa’s mother heard the news, she was outraged, her whole body ached with anger, so during the early stages of Melissa’s life all she inferred was that rage was the only response to a hard situation. During the next few months of her early life was when her mother began to grieve and feel guilt and hurt. Melissa’s mind was only still forming, so she took became a mixture of both emotions. When Melissa was 5 and too young to understand that her mother had met someone new, she was told that she would be having a baby brother (by this time her mother was back to her normal personality). Melissa was so happy and oblivious. When Melissa was 10, she noticed something strange about her brother and asked her mother why he would never look at her directly. He was blind, but she never really understood this until she was 12. From then on, she swore to protect him no matter what, just like her mother did when she had heard the news.
